My name is Omar Ceesay. I grew up in the urban areas of Serrekunda. I am an educated teacher and have been working for many years before i entered the UTG to study political science. I would like to work for the government to begin with and than hopefully be self-emplyed. If hard to get job I can always take up teaching at a higher level since this education will qualify me for high school and university. I would like to serve my country and not having to depend on anyone because I am disabled. Education is a tool for empowerment. I want to give back to the country and the younger generation. The country did a lot for me.
Bachelor of arts and science: Political science January 2017
All the while, I live in my family house in Bundung, near Serekunda, not far from the capital Banjul.I live with my mother and sister, together with my half brothers and their mother too. We are a low income family that manage to live by pooling our meagre resources together. My little sister picked up a job as a State Registered Nurse barely two years ago and she contributes to the family a lot, and my mother does petty trading and earns just enough to buy toilet and laundry soap. As for me myself, I’m hoping to get a well paying job with my Masters degree at a government or private sector or even with an international organization by which I shall be able to do a lot more and live a decent and happy life with my family.
