My name is Emmanuel Adeola Lawal, a 4th year medical student in the University of The Gambia. My hubbies are numerous to mention all, but on the top of that list are listening to music, singing, playing the drum, acting, playing and viewing football (I am an arsenal fan by the way), I also love playing video games. I am passionate about everything I do whether academical or not, I always want to be a winner
AforA has been a source of joy, rest and peace to me and my family. You have paved a stress and worry free academic path for me and my family.
Spring semester 2017
well 2017 academic year has really been interesting. I’ve learnt a lot and developed a lot of clinical skills in my medical program such as venipuncture, wound dressing, history taking, analytical thinking etc. After the flop in the introductory course to surgery, I did very well in the introductory course to medicine and almost got a distinction. Also I have witnessed a lot of surgical operations at the theatre. Presently I just started my course in pharmacology and laboratory medicine so with this new challenge there is a lot to learn and achieve, so I am hoping for the best of time in this new phase
Fall semester 2016
Fall semester 2017
2017, has been a very interesting year for me. I started this year after the political impasse with introductory courses in medicine and surgery. Taking these courses gave me the privilege to be in the wards and theatre which stirred my passion towards clinical sciences after been in the biochemical and premed class in the past 3 years. Presently I have started my laboratory medicine courses which are pharmacology, medical microbiology ( bacteriology, parasitology, mycology, virology), hematology, chemical pathology, and anatomical pathology. these courses have been both challenging and very interesting. I will be taking an exam on these courses in the month January 2018.
Spring semester 2018
Well so far, I’ve done my end of semester exams. I was able to score an A in pharmacology but the result for lab medicine is yet to be released. I expect to do well also in laboratory medicine, I might not score an A in it but will do well by God’s grace. I will be also be doing my professional exams starting from the 21st of May to the 30th of May 2018.
Fall semester 2018
Well 2018 has been a good year. I passed my 2nd professional exams which involved pharmacology and laboratory medicine. Also I did an 8 course in community medicine which was eye opening as I travelled to the provincial regions of our country. I thereafter started my clinical rotations and have so far completed my medicine 1 and Paediatric 1 rotation and credited both exams. I’m presently in my 3rd and favorite rotation which is surgery.
Spring semester 2019
It’s been challenging but also had the most interesting medical postings so far. I did a posting in obstetrics and Gynaecology, 2 surgery postings and also a posting in pediatrics. I’ve been able to excel in all the posting so far
Fall semester 2019

I ended this year by going out on a community posting to a village in the rural part of the country, it was fulfilling 3weeks stay in the village. As the year comes to end I’m now preparing for a professional exam in April 2020
